Hiellen Longhouse Village
Experience the Beauty and Culture of Haida Gwaii at Hiellen Village Longhouses
Located on Haida Nation land and nestled in the breathtaking Naikoon Provincial Park on the north end of Haida Gwaii, Hiellen Village Longhouses offers a truly unique and meaningful getaway. Just 26 miles from G̱aw Tlagée | Old Massett, this off-grid retreat sits steps from a stunning sandy beach—perfect for swimming, walking, and reconnecting with nature.
Our accommodations include seven traditional-style small longhouses, each sleeping up to five guests, and one large group longhouse that can accommodate up to 20. We’re also excited to announce that seven additional longhouses are currently under construction and set to open in summer 2026.
Every longhouse has been thoughtfully designed to provide cozy, pet-friendly lodging that honours the land and the traditions of the Haida people.
Each small longhouse features:
One queen bed and a single bunk bed (sleeps 5)
Double burner propane stove and cooking utensils
Three-piece bathroom (note: on-demand hot water may be limited)
Wood stove for warmth (firewood included)
Our large group longhouse offers:
10 private bedrooms, each with a single bunk bed
Fridge and cooking utensils
Two three-piece bathrooms
Guests are asked to bring their own bedding.
