What to do
Haida Gwaii is great for hardy adventurers, sports enthusiasts, or individuals, couples, and families who simply want to vacation in a relaxing environment and soak up culture. Haida Gwaii offers endless recreational opportunities such as fishing, hiking, and camping in and around protected parks and reserves of diverse wildlife and flora. It's also the only place in all of Northern British Columbia where travellers can surf. Aboriginal sites and remarkable works of art make for good down time exploring.

Museums & Centres
Enhance your visit to the Islands by visiting one of our fascinating museums, celebrating our local heritage.
Fishing & Crabbing
Mention the Queen Charlottes in southern BC and residents immediately think, Fishing. Anglers, take note: the islands are a revered world-class destination:
Camping
Recreation sites here, located in gorgeous, green rainforests, perched overtop of rocky beaches, or situated along sandy ocean beaches, are easily accessible and often free. Many also offer relaxing seclusion.
Kayaking & Surfing
Hundreds of islands, sheltered coves and inlets, and a rich abundance of sea life make the islands an unforgettable water sport destination.
Golfing
Golfers have two great choices while visiting the Islands. Both of the Islands courses are scenically placed along the ocean and offer a fun and relaxing way to spend a day on the Islands.
Hiking & Beachcombing
Haida Gwaii has an incredible variety of hiking trails through old growth forests, to spectacular ocean viewpoints, and along the ocean.
Bird Watching & Wildlife Viewing
Bring your binoculars, because Haida Gwaii hosts over 250 different bird species, including the rare horned puffin. You'll spot masses of gulls, eagles and ravens during the fish-spawning season.
